Varifocal Lenses

We can re-glaze your existing varifocal glasses for you at a fraction of the cost you would pay to a high street optician.

Because of the complex nature of varifocal lenses, we believe that we should only re-glaze your frames with varifocal lenses of exactly the same type as those that are already fitted.

Therefore, if you would like us to re-glaze your varifocals for you we would need you to post them to us with a copy of your prescription via Signed for Registered Post. Our address is shown below Please e.mail us at to let us know that you have posted them.

Upon receipt of your glasses we would inspect your current varifocal lenses in conjunction with your new prescription and would e.mail a price to you before proceeding. If you considered the price to be too high then we would of course return your glasses to you immediately via Signed for Registered Post.

Higher Powered Lenses
(possible additional costs)

For all types of lenses (except thin lenses) extra costs apply if you have a higher powered prescription. These extra costs do not apply if you select one of our thin lens options.

For each Higher Powered Lens the additional cost is £4.75 per lens (NOT per pair of lenses).

(Note that it is possible that only one of your eyes will need a higher powered lens, in which case you would only need to pay one additional charge of £4.75 )

A High Power Prescription is one that:

Has a Sphere of More than +4.0 or Less than -6.0
OR
Has a Cylinder of More than +2.0 or Less than -2.0
OR
Has a Combined Sphere and Cylinder of More than +6.0 or Less than -6.0

If you enter your prescription details online, our website will recognise whether these additional costs should be applied or not. If you are in doubt, please enter your prescription details online even if you are posting a copy prescription to us. This will allow you to correctly calculate the amount payable. Ordering Procedure

Simply select what type of frames you require re-glazing then complete the online order form which allows you to select the lenses / tints / coatings etc you require.

Note that when you Checkout you will be given the option to either pay online via Paypal, or send us a cheque for the amount due along with your frames.

Once you have completed the order form send to us :

1. Your Glasses;
2. A print out of your confirmation e.mail;
3. A copy of your prescription dated within the last two years (unless you are happy that you have entered the correct details on our online order form);
4. A cheque payable to "Glasses 4 Eyes" for the correct amount (unless you have paid online via credit or debit card).

Please send your glasses by recorded delivery. We will not be held responsible for glasses lost in the post.

We operate the same policy as high street opticians in that glasses are re-glazed at your own risk. We also reserve the right to return your frames to you along with any monies paid to us (on receipt of your frames) if we feel that they are unsuitable for re-glazing.

Please don’t forget to enclose your full postal address so that we can return your glasses by recorded delivery.
