Single Vision
Reading or Distance. All single vision lenses are free.

Bifocal Vision
D28 Style for an additional £20.00, or Executive Style for an additional £45.00.

Please Note: Only if your optician has recommended bifocal lenses should you order them from us.


Polycarbonate Lenses
Polycarboante lenses are stronger than our standard CR39 lenses. We particularly recommend that you select this option if you are purchasing any of our Rimless frames, Bendable Rimless frames, or any of the Designer frames that are rimless

Thin Lenses
Thin Lenses use lightweight polycarbonate high-index lenses.
Note:
  • 1.60 index lenses are approx 25% thinner than standard index lenses
  • 1.67 index lenses are approx 40% thinner than standard index lenses
  • 1.74 index lenses are approx 55% thinner than standard index lenses

Sunglasses Tint Colour
We provide 6 alternative colours of tinted lenses. Brown, Grey, Blue, Green, Red and Yellow.
The tints shown below all have a Light Transmission Factor (LTF) of 50%.
All 6 colours are available with a 15%, 50% and 85% LTF.

LTF of Sunglasses Tint
Our tints are defined by the light transmission factor (LTF), where 100% LTF is completely clear, and 0% LTF permits no light to pass through (solid). We offer 3 alternative LTF tints; 15%, 50% or 85%

Transitions Lenses or Sunsensors Lenses
These lenses change from clear to dark in the presence of ultraviolet light.
Note: These lenses also block 100% of harmful UV rays, so there will be no need to select the extra UV400 protection.

Polarised Lenses
Available in 5 Colour Options: Grey / Brown / Rose / Blue / Green.
Polarised lenses reduce glare and come with UV400 and anti-reflective coating built in.

Anti-reflective
Type of optical coating applied to the lenses to reduce reflection.
Note: applying this coating to a Transition lens will slow down the reaction of the lens.

UV400 Protection
A coating applied to the lenses to block harmful UV rays.

Scratch Resistant
Select this option for Free hard anti-scratch lens coating.

High Power Lenses
Indicates if you require any high power lenses. This is calculated for you and depends on you prescription. An additional charge for high power lenses does not apply to Thin Lenses.

Case
You will receive a Standard Glasses Case with your new presription glasses or sunglasses free of charge.

Occasionally, opticians split the prescription into 'Near' and 'Distance'.
If you want 'Distance' glasses use the 'Distance' figures on the prescription and for 'Reading' glasses use the 'Near' figures. For Bi-focals it is usually a combination of the 'Distance' plus the 'Addition' - in which case please enter the 'Addition' value.

Right eye info is usually on the left of your prescription and the Left eye info is usually on the right.

Sphere will always be a '+' OR a '-' figure - some opticians write this above the number. It should appear something like this '+2.50'. If the optician has put a symbol that looks like a figure '8' on it's side or has put in plano, it means that the sphere is 0.00.

Cylinder (CYL)
Cylinder will always be a '+' OR a '-' figure - some opticians write this above the number. It should appear something like this '+1.75'. If the optician has written'DS' or has not entered a figure then simply leave this blank.

Cylinder (CYL) :
Axis (AXI)
Axis will be a number between 0-180, there is no '+' or '-' to enter here. Carefully enter the number in the box provided. Note that if there is no Cylinder on the prescription there will also be no Axis - so leave it unselected.

Near Addition (ADD)
Your optician may have written 'Add' or 'Near' on your prescription.
If your optician has entered a figure for 'Addition' or 'Add' or 'Near' enter it in the drop down Near Addition box. It is always a '+' figure and relate to an adjustment for near reading use. It is usually the same for both eyes. If nothing has been entered then please leave this blank.

Pupillary Distance
Pupillary Distance is the distance from the centre of one pupil (black spot in the middle of your eye) to the centre of your other pupil.
Ideally obtain an exact PD from your optician or doctor at the time of your eye test. Alternatively, you can either chose to use an average PD which is shown as '63' for distance vision and '60' for reading vision on the order form (these averages have been determined by our dispensing opticians) or with the help of a friend measure it yourself in millimetres
